Barangaroo, Darling Harbour, Sydney – Minima formwork and Superslim shoring
Barangaroo is a $6bn urban transformation of the western edge of Sydney’s central business area, Darling Harbour. The project is made up of commercial, residential, retail and dining along with a new landmark hotel, on completion it will be home to around 1,200 residents and 23,000 office workers.
RMD Sydney is supplying equipment and services to Dalma
Lend Lease is responsible for Barangaroo South – with three high rise towers C3, C4 and C5. Lend Lease contracted Dalma Corp Pty Ltd to construct the basement levels on the project. They are one of the largest formwork company’s in Australia and RMD Sydney is supplying equipment and services to Dalma.
Minima wall formwork system and Super Slim Soldiers
The C3 tower will be 49 stories high when it’s completed and is the section that RMD Sydney supplied ‘the lift over-run pit’ for. It required 71 linear metre’s of single sided wall formwork, 5.7m deep, in an irregular shape and being poured around corners meant that a series of different solutions had to be produced so props could weave through each other. The RMD Sydney component mostly consisted of the Minima wall formwork system and Super Slim Soldiers.
Combining multiple RMD products was required to successfully design and win this section of the project, we are hoping it has also has given RMD Sydney a foot in the door to the site to hopefully win other significant sections of this major project.
