Rapidshor High Strength Shoring System helps bring SAHMRI to life for System Formwork Pty Ltd
The new SAHMRI facility is co-located in Adelaide’s dynamic new health precinct, adjacent to the new Royal Adelaide Hospital (NRAH). The Institute will draw together more than 680 researchers in a state-of-the-art, purpose-built 25,000m² facility in the west end of Adelaide.
System Formwork Pty Ltd has been sub-contracted by the Hindmarsh Group to erect the concrete frame building, which comprises nine floors. In turn System Formwork has utilized the design and supply services of RMD Australia to layout the high level propping throughout the building using our high-strength Rapidshor shoring system.
The highlight of the building is the Level 5 concrete floor which is formed up from Level 3 at a total height of 12.17m floor to floor. The Rapidshor Falsework at this level also comprises RMD’s unique Rapidshor Captive Deck system to assist in achieving the desired safety requirements for the installation of both shoring and timber soffit formwork.
Within Level 3 to 5 there are approximately 400t of Rapidshor shoring system, with an additional 80t of Rapidshor Captive Deck. Given the structural requirements of the building through its erection phase, Rapidshor was chosen as the preferred high-strength shoring system, as it has been designed to safely withstand both the concrete weights of Levels 5 and 6 together.
The Rapidshor System has allowed safe, quick and effective high level falsework shoring through both this and preceding levels of the SAHMRI building.
